In the April 2009 we asked for your views on Citylife. We got nearly 800 replies to our questionnaire.

This has given us lots of ideas about how we can improve Citylife. Most people said they found Citylife useful and enjoyed reading it. Community news and what’s on were most popular, closely followed by features about improvements around the city, recycling and environment, health and wellbeing and information about council services.

We asked if you thought there was enough about your local area, half of you thought there was. We will be including more articles about areas outside the city centre in future. Our ward committees are also looking at how they can pass on news and information to local residents.

Citylife is the magazine to read for information and news about council services and organisations we work with, such as Your Homes Newcastle and local health and emergency services. We don’t want to repeat information and news you get elsewhere but we will try and include more about what is happening in your community.

About a third of you said you would prefer a smaller size Citylife. We looked at this and found it would cost more if we moved from the current size and type of paper. Keeping costs down is important to us and so we think it is best not to change the size of Citylife.

You can read the full findings of the Citylife survey in our report of the Citylife survey (pdf 407kb)

If you didn’t fill in the survey form we would still like to hear from you. If you have ideas and suggestions about Citylife you can email citylife@newcastle.gov.uk or phone us on 0191 211 5073.
