Battle re-enactment Weekend
Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th September 2011

at The Battlefield (off Grange Road), Tyne Riverside Country Park at Newburn.
Displays, action and activities all day between 11am and 4pm

The Covenanters have returned! Come and meet them in their camp and find out why the Scots invaded England in 1640. See the surgeon at work; see weapons and ammunition being prepared for the coming battle. Meet the brave cavalry horses and have a go yourself at being a pikeman.

Parking: please use public transport if you can; drivers please follow stewards' instructions. No parking on Grange Road. Disabled parking only in the Battlefield car park. Access for wheelchair and buggy users is good.

Please note that this event will be LOUD! Musket and cannon fire is very noisy, and may upset small children and animals. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. This event is free of charge but donations are most welcome.
