In addition to the closures the following restrictions will need to be suspended:

Between 14:00 and 23:00 on Friday 15/06/2012 the no right turn restriction from Quayside to Sandgate at the Milk Market junction, the no left turn restriction from Sandgate to Quayside at the Milk Market junction, the no entry except buses restriction from Dean Street on to the Side, the no entry restriction from the Side on to Queen Street, the no motor vehidles, except for access and permit holders from Queen Street on to the Side

Between 06:00 and 22:00 on Friday 15/06/2012 all access, waiting and one way restrictions on Northumberland Street

In addition, the road listed below will be closed to allow the Olympic Torch Relay 2012 to pass Friday 15 June 2012 between 16:30 and 19:30.  In order to minimise impact on traffic the Torch Relay will be supported by a rolling Police closure to ensure the roads are closed for as short a period as necessary.  However there will still be an impact on traffic within the area

Roads closed on Friday 15 June 2012 between 16:30 and 19:30 by Police rolling closure:  Sandyford Road between Jesmond Road and Portland Road.  Portland Road Between Sandyford Road and Stoddart Street 

During works, east footpath closure to be implemented (pedestrians diverted to use west footpath)

Bus companies have agreed to divert all their services from 21:00 onwards.

Lane Closures and temporary traffic signals will be introduced as and when required.

A temporary road closure will be required at the junction of Beech Grove Road and Westmorland Road to introduce a raised footway crossing - during this time a signed diversion route for vehicles will be in place.

A temporary road closure will be required at the junction of Nesham Street and Westmorland Road to introduce a raised footway crossing - during this time access for vehicles will not be possible into or out of Nesham Street.

On Thursday 10/05/12 and Friday 11/05/12 between approximately 8am and 6pm:

• road surfacing and associated works will be carried out on Westmorland Road
• A temporary road closure will be required at the junction of Beech Grove Road and Westmorland Road to introduce a raised footway crossing, during this time signed diversion routes for vehicles will be in place
• a temporary road closure will be required at the junction of Nesham Street and Westmorland Road to introduce a raised footway crossing, during this time access for vehicles will not be possible into or out of Nesham Street

Minor disruption and delays will be unavoidable.

1. Erick Street - from its junction with New Bridge Street West leading to the rear of Bamburgh House - prohibition of vehicles and pedestrians.

2. Cross Carliol Street - from its junction with John Dobson Street to its junction with Erick Street - prohibition of vehicles and pedestrians.

3. Footpath leading from Manors car park to Pilgrim Street from its abutment to Bank House (to the immeadiate east of Bank House) to where it discharges at podium level beneath 55 deg North - prohibition of pedestrians.

4. The unamed highway to the immeadiate south of Bank house, along the full length of Bank House - prohibition of pedestrians.

Diversion: All appropriate diversion signs and advance warning signs will be placed on adjacent highway network as and when required.

Resurfacing works

Access for emergency services will be maintained during the work.

This closure will only apply to vehicles with pedestrian access being available at all times.

Rosebery Crescent - from its junction with Jesmond Road to its junction with Sailsbury Gardens.

Rosebery Place - from its junction with Rosebery Crescent for a distance of 30 metres in a southerly direction

Access for emergency services will be maintained as far as reasonably practicable during the work.
